Recipe Dump #7
Oct. 29th, 2011 08:21 pm"Patricia, you used to post so many awesome and cheap crock pot meals! What happened? Have you stopped using your crock pot?"
No, darling children, I am just lazy as balls. Let me fix that for you.

Slow Cooker Creamy Chicken With Biscuits
Ingredients
- Makes 6 servings
- Hearty as fuck
- ~$12
=~$2 a serving
- God damn this is good
I adore this recipe and will use it forever and ever amen. Ian and I about died when we tasted it. The slow cooker brings the flavor of the chicken out, nothing is muted like it tends to be with a crock pot. Absolute win.

Slow Cooker Creamy Chicken With Biscuits
Ingredients
- 4 carrots, chopped up
- 2 stalks of celery (sidebar: this was a metric fuckton of celery. If you like celery but don't love it, just use one), chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 pounds chicken (we got a 1 1/2 pound package of chicken tenderloins and cut them into chunks, worked a dream)
- 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 6 biscuits (we got the Wal-Mart brand flaky biscuits. Unf).
- 1 cup of frozen peas
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- Combine the carrots, onions, celery and flour in your crock pot. Add the chicken and poultry seasoning, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon of pepper. Then add the chicken broth.
- Cover, cook on low for 5-6 hours.
- When it has 30 minutes left, start making the biscuits.
- Ten minutes before it's done, add in the peas, cream and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Stir it, and cook it for 5-10 more minutes.
- The recipe suggests to cut the biscuits in half, put half of one in the bottom of the bowl, add your chicken, and then add the top. But because flaky layer biscuits are the superior biscuit breed, I just ate mine on the side and peeled it off and dipped it in the mixture. Worked a treat.
